Crystaline massive Triplite from Amsta quarry, Västernorrland, Sweden.
This small quarry is today a large open pit quarry and any rare minerals are gone.
We did research on some of the minerals and XRD showed Triplite (brown), Varulite (greenish) and more.
Triplite is a rare phosphate mineral. The colour is brown, dark brown, red-brown.
The name triplite comes from the Greek triplos, meaning triple, referring to the mineral's 3 prominent directions of cleavage.
