Cut or opened Geodes from Brazil, USA, Germany.
50% fo the geodes are single half with a polished surface. All with natural colour.
Mini geode pairs, polished pairs ( i.e. single nodule sawn in half) are sold only as matched pairs.
The definition of what is a geode or an agate is muddy. Both come from the same geological enviroment.
Most geodes are hollow in the spherical masses of hard silica skin ( agate) with quartz crystals in the centre.
There are agate nodules that are colourful for cutting but a hollow centre with free standing quartz crysals.
Or the geode (nodule) is completely in-filled calcedone (agate).
Geodes are often named according to a particular feature or mineral they exhibit or mention where the particular geodes were found.
Common informal names for geodes include: quartz geodes, amethyst geodes, agate geodes, enhydro geodes, Oco geodes, Keokuk geodes, coconut geodes, etc. Thunder eggs may occur as geodes or nodules.
Mini geode pairs. It is not possible to buy only one half of a pair.
Some geodes can show UV-SW.
