SCANDINAVIAN MINERALS
Eclogite (eklogit) is a metamophic rock that comes from the earth upper mantle down 10km or deeper.
Our specimen come from Almenningen, Verpeneset and Åheim, Nordfjord, Norway.
The samples have the following minerals, Omphacite ( sodium-rich pyroxene) as a greys-green groudnmass, Red Garnet (Almadine-Pyrope), Quartz (white), sky-blue crystals om Kyanite, Phengite (light brown reflective flakes a variety of Muscovite mica), minor Zoisite, Rutile, Olivine and probably more.
