Crystalline Petalite from Varuträsk mine, Västerbotten County, Sweden.
Petalite (Castirite) is a lithium aluminum tektosilicate LiAlSi4O10 and is a commercially important source of lithium.
It is colourless/white/grey translucent with vitreous to pearly luster and with careful trimming a transparent gemstone.
The specimens we offer are not selected by size as 99% is dull grey, but translucency and colour and possibliy for grinding.
